Are you a morning person or a night owl? It seems like this tendency that we have to be either one or the other affects so much of our lives.
I am definitely a morning person. I wake up easily and my brain is usually going 90 to nothing. I want to talk about ideas and what the day holds. I like to write early in the morning and if I’m going to exercise, I better do it early or it just won’t happen. By the time 8:00 or 9:00 pm rolls around, I’m done. I can’t think clearly. I feel like I’m in a fog.
I have to keep in mind Proverbs 27:14 “Whoever blesses his neighbor with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, will be counted as cursing.” Yikes!
You know you’re a morning person if:
When you get up in the mornings, you find yourself engaged in significant conversations with your dog, since everyone else is still asleep.
You walk into the kitchen at 6:00 AM and can’t believe dirty dishes are in the sink so you quickly clean them up.
You pass through the kitchen at 9:00 PM, glance at the dishes in the sink and think, “I know I really should do something about those…”
You find yourself apologizing to your friends’ voice mail for calling so early.
You know the names of the hosts of the Today Show, The Early Show, and the The Early, Early Show.
Your family wakes up to warm, hard cinnamon rolls because it’s really hard to keep them warm and soft in the oven for very long.
You have seen only the first 10 minutes of many a good movie.
You decide that running the vacuum early, banging pans around in the kitchen, and an occasional screen door slam will only help your family get up.
You’ve been known to rent movies more than once by mistake because, for the life of you, you can’t remember watching it and have no idea how it ends.
When out with friends, you are the first one to give your spouse the “it’s time to go” look.
Your family groans when you suggest “let’s watch a movie tonight” and make you promise to stay awake and finish it with the rest of the family. And you just can’t make that promise.
Your husband says, “You sure like to talk in the morning.”

So…what are you? Are you an early riser or do you do your best work late at night? I would love to hear so leave a comment and let me know about you.
I am honored that you dropped by my blog.
I hope you have a great day!
I am clearly a morning person as I write this at 4:46 AM and know that the rest of my family will be awake hours from now. Of course, I went to bed way before them last night too! And as I write this, I am wondering if I can make a smoothie without waking them up. This morning thing is definitely my life. I look forward to reading more about you and your family and animals. Thanks, Cheryl! I am honored that you stopped by. I know the angst of the smoothie question. To blend, or not to blend! Have a great day!
