Be Ready February 21, 2012

Be ready.  The title Sunday morning was “Be Ready.”  I’m so thankful it wasn’t “Have It All figured Out” or “Fix All Your Past Mistakes” or “Understand Revelations” or “Make Everyone Happy” or “Dust”.

The bridegroom is coming and we must be ready. Be ready. (Matthew 24:44)  Stand firm. (Mark 13:13)    Let nothing move you. (I Cor. 15:58)

I want to be ready when he comes.  I want to be found faithful.

How many times have I told my children, “Watch for me.  I’ll be there soon.  Have all of your things together.”  Jesus has told us the same things… because he’s coming. Get your things together.  He’s coming.

Be watching.  It won’t be long.

Shopping as Exercise February 17, 2012

Can shopping substitute for exercise?

What if…
I parked in the farthest parking spot?
I walked to the far end of each store?
I walk to the end of the strip mall sidewalk?
I wear my tennis shoes?
I raise and lower my shopping bags to increase my muscle mass?
I wear my sports bra?
I stretch before AND after?
I pass a few other shoppers as I stroll along the sidewalk?

This just may be a viable alternative…especially if I skip supper.
